Università degli Studi di Pavia UNIPV

The University of Pavia (UNIPV) is one of the world’s oldest universities. Its teaching and research activities are characterized by a multidisciplinary nature.

UNIPV has been able to create a network of international collaboration that today includes over 500 partner universities and research institutions throughout the world including UNIPD, IGME and UA, partners for this project. The Department of Earth and Environmental Science DSTA includes a research group that supports and sustains training and research in the field of engineering geology and geomorphology using advanced remote sensing techniques.

The main activity focuses in the field of geohazard identification and monitoring, hydrogeological characterisation of aquifer for groundwater management, geological interpretation of different ground motion mechanisms and modelling the ground deformation related to pore pressures changes (fluid extraction). UNIPV has also been developing in the recent years a significant track record of research activities in the field of urban and environmental remote sensing, collaborating with various universities and companies.

Role in the project:

UNIPV is the Project Coordinator of RESERVOIR and will lead the WP2 providing expertise in the construction of the conceptual model of the pilot sites. UNIPV will be actively involved in all the others WPs, supporting the analysis of A-DInSAR data, the relationships of land subsidence with drivers, the development of guidelines with particular regard to the pilot site of Comacchio.
