Bashar Tarawneh, is a professor of Civil Engineering at The University of Jordan and a licensed professional engineer (P.E). He has more than 20 years of experience in civil and geotechnical engineering. He received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Ohio University, USA. He worked as a research associate at the Ohio Research Institute for transportation and Environment (ORIET) during his graduate studies. He worked as a senior engineer with HNTB consulting firm, Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), and Menard Vibro Middle East. He has specialized experience in ground improvement techniques, liquefaction mitigation, groundwater management, and drainage design for construction projects. He has excellent professional expertise in writing technical reports, technical and specialized papers, and presentations. Throughout his professional career, he authored /co-authored many highly specialized technical papers and reports. He serves as a reviewer for several specialized civil engineering journals.
