Khaldoun M Shatanawi, he is an associate professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Jordan and has experiences for more than 20 years in teaching, research and consultation in the areas of water resources management, hydrology and hydraulics. He is also the director of the Water, Energy, and Environment Center (WEEC), where he manages several research projects funded by UN, EU, USAID and by local donors such as Higher Council, Ministries of Environment and Water and Irrigation. He holds PhD and MS degrees in Civil Engineering from Clemson University in the USA, and B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Jordan. He has published more than 30 papers in groundwater managements, hydrology of arid land, hydraulic engineering, wastewater and solid waste. He teaches courses in hydrology, hydraulics and water resources engineering. Dr. Shatanawi provides consultancies to government agencies, local companies and UN organizations in the areas of his specialization. He is an active member in the Jordanian Engineers Association, IHP and IWA and others.
